Think I am falling for this place … far too nice. Hope that this hasn’t spoilt me for the next islands! My expectations are GREAT ( Charles Dickens) I hear some of you say! Seriously, lovely island, unspoilt by tourists, very few Brits ( have I said that before). In fact, think I am the only one. Going to Antiparos tomorrow. Hopefully, going to see the caves. Freshly caught grilled sardines for dinner tonight. Sorry, no pic but here is my sunset view.

Aliki is buzzing with activity tonight. All of the lovely restaurants are busy … locals coming up from the beaches … buses & taxis to and fro back to villages. Busy but with a very relaxed feel to it. I haven’t been here 24 hrs yet but I already feel at home. What I have noticed though is there are very few Brits here …. not sure why that is … missing a trick … actually Ssshhh … don’t tell them!

Eventually arrived in Paros at 3.30 am on 2nd Aug! Very tired after spending virtually 12 hrs travelling/ waiting around! But nevertheless, it was worth it! Paros is lovely … in particular Aliki which is where I am staying. Traditional greek village with 3 small beautiful beaches. Quaint bars/ cafes & restaurants all serving just greek food … yep, no fish & chips (thank goodness)! This is a little gem! George & Dora ( owners of appt where I’m staying couldn’t be more helpful. Photos are of one of the beaches in Aliki and of course couldn’t post without a pic of my lunch.

Better to be late than not at all … who said that? Sitting in the bar on the ferry … well, more like a ship to be honest … may have a glass of wine once I set sail …. I should arrive in Paros at 3 am ( 1 pm UK time) and George ( owner of appt) is meeting me … thankfully … great atmosphere here … almost party …. gonna read, write, listen to music & chat to randoms now!

I booked my ferry to Paros online in June! Gets to the office at the port to pick my ticket up & they inform me that the agency that I booked it with cancelled it!! Rung them, they don’t have an explanation! The 5.30 ferry is full … I now have to wait for the 11 pm ferry which means I arrive in Paros at 3 am. 😖 5 hour wait in the ferry port …

Yay!! Managed to get my huge rucksack through as hand luggage … they didn’t bother to weight it! Express security check done & now having breakfast …. 😄

Not sure why its Mega …. still waiting for it …. 45 mins late ( so far) feel free to find out … am guessing its the weather but I need to be on my way now …. next time … National Express or train….. yeah, I know … get used to the waiting around!
